Columbus

The kids and I had such a great time visiting my friends in Columbus last week. I am so proud of myself for making the drive. It was something that I wouldn't even have considered about a year ago. Next I'll be telling you that I took a plane ride somewhere... well, maybe not.

First we went to my long time friend Karen's house. I've known her since the 7th grade. We did lose touch for a few years and just reconnected via the internet about 2 years ago. So... it's been about 15 or so years since we've seen each other in person. So weird.

She has a son that's about a year older than Michael and a daughter that's about a year older than Maggie. Can I just tell you how many times I teared up watching them play together? It was so sweet to me to be chatting with Karen and drinking coffee and watching our children together. Loved that.

We were also able to see another good friend as well on our trip. Carrie and I have known each other from our GLCC days. I really should give Carrie some credit for Jamie and I getting together. We started flirting with each other while driving to Carrie's house. Jamie even asked me to marry him that day by giving me a candy heart. I answered 'sure'. Oh the memories.

They have a fun house to visit as well. So many toys to choose from! The kids got along great and it was so relaxing to sit and chat and catch up on life together.

It was a great trip and I can't wait to visit there again!
