I met Michael's new teacher last night. I think I really like her. It's hard to tell with just a quick howdy-do. I've heard a lot of great things about her. And, after speaking to his kindergarten para-pro I believe she will be a perfect fit for my boy.
So, I'm praying that we have a better year than the last. Remember how Michael's 1st grade teacher left at Christmas break and a new teacher came in? She wasn't from his school nor was she a part of the charter schools. It was a horrible year.
Michael doesn't start school until next week so I'm hoping to take him in this week to meet her. Oh, and drop off his supplies. Man, they need so much!

I was so excited that the K and pre-K classes just collect a few supplies and then charge a supply fee so the teachers can purchase the rest for the students. I didn't have to run around trying to find everything on the lists--I will next year, though!
That's a great idea! That way the teachers know that each child has exactly what they need.
That's what I like about it--and then you don't have some kids with 96-ct box of crayons and others with the 24-ct. It helps make things equal, and it's easier on the teachers since they don't have to worry about knowing whose is whose! :)
Starting in 1st grade though, we go to a full supply list. So next year I'll be searching for all of those back-to-school bargains!
