Phasing Out the Nap

I've been trying a new thing with Michael... I've started to phase out his nap. I'm extremely blessed to have a 41/2 year old who still likes to take a two hour nap. I can get so many things accomplished when both children are resting, including a nap myself.

But, it's been making it tougher in the evening. He's really crabby if he takes a nap. It doesn't make much sense. So, I think I'll keep him on a no nap schedule unless I force myself to wake him up after 45 minutes.

Since she was a baby, Emma has never taken naps. She wanted to be awake, even when I didn't want her to be! :) She'll fall asleep on the couch once in a great while now, and then be up until 11 at night. It's really annoying.

I don't think we should EVER phase out naps. Wouldn't it be nice if everyone shut down for two hours in the afternoon to recuperate? *daydreams...*

Lisa, I'm so sorry! That just doesn't sound fun. Especially while you were pregnant and when the girls were babies. A cat nap always made my day (and night) easier.

Katie, I agree. When I went to Mexico... man, it was years ago... they practiced the siesta (spelled wrong, have flu, that's my excuse). Anyway, loved that time of day.
